Membership
The card is the start. The hall is the work.
Dues, meetings, grievances, and the tools that make a local more than a paycheck deduction.
Stewards
Your first line. They process grievances, police the language, and carry issues to the hall. If they do not hear it, it did not happen.
Meetings
Second Thursday, 6:00 p.m. Speak to officers, vote, and hear the report. Alternating between Hightstown Elks and the Hightstown hall.
Union Plus
Credit cards, mortgages, legal consults, and discounts on union-made goods through unionprivilege.org.
COPE
Political education money is voluntary and never taken from dues. A white card is available from your steward or the office.
The hall
Calendar books, retiree watches, golf outings, the dinner dance, and flowers when a family is grieving. This is a local, not a vendor.
Dues
One hour’s pay. Shared cost. Shared fight.
Dues are collected monthly. A portion goes to the IBEW International. The remainder stays with Local 94 to negotiate and administer the contract, pay officers and stewards, cover lost time, run arbitration and court, train stewards, and affiliate with the AFL-CIO, state Central Labor Councils, and the National Safety Council.
If you have a dues question, call the financial office before it becomes a standing. Do not let a paperwork problem become a membership problem.

Grievance
Bring facts. Ask for a remedy.
Under the agreement you are entitled to grievance and arbitration. Tell your steward what happened, what language was violated, and what you want done. They process the issue. They cannot invent facts you did not give them.
Time limits are real. Do not sit on a write-up, a missed overtime, or a safety complaint.
